The story
A Colorado horseman, a Caribbean island, and forty-some years.
Rex and Queeda Walker started renting homes in Cozumel in 1982. The family had already been in the hospitality business in Colorado for decades — Sombrero Stables, in Estes Park, opened in 1958 — and the island became the other half of the year.
Today the company is still the family's. The ten homes you can book here are all our own: six oceanfront villas north of town, four walled homes inside San Miguel. They are the short-term side of the business.
Behind them is the rest of it — more than thirty properties in all. We manage short-term homes for other owners on the island, and we hold about twenty long-term rentals of our own.
What hasn't changed: a real person meets every guest at the door, and a real person answers every message.
Ironshore, a ladder into the sea, and the reef close enough to swim to.
Walled gardens and a pool, a few blocks from the plaza and the malecón.
Someone meets you with the keys in hand. No lockbox, no code in an email.
The person who answers your message is a twenty-minute drive from the house.
Small enough that we know every roof, every pump, every neighbor.
For owners
Own a home in Cozumel?
We manage short-term and long-term homes for owners who want them cared for, not just rented. A flat monthly fee, a team on the island, and the same reviews you see on our own homes.
We don't take every home. Write to us and we'll talk.
